What is the ZING / SSA / GAIA
Carbon Offset Donation Program?
ZING has partnered with the Sustainable Spa Association (SSA) and GAIA Together in designing and implementing a means by which customers of ZING businesses can optionally donate to help offset the carbon footprint of the business they are visiting.
The SSA is member based organisation that assists spa and wellbeing operators around the world in working towards a structured and sustainable business model incorporating the pillars of sustainability; People, Planet and Profit.
GAIA Together's mission is to work with businesses to develop innovative carbon management strategies that measure, mitigate and offset carbon footprints through a range of socio-economic and carbon reduction projects that address all the key areas of carbon management.
HOW IT WORKS
A ZING business can enable the Carbon Offset Donation (COD) Program through their System Settings. This then adds an additional feature to the Point of Sale, the Online Booking portal on their website, and to the bookings made in the ZING Calendar. It also creates their business entry in the GAIA ZING system.
When a customer makes a donation they receive a receipt saying so. The ZING business accepts the payment and ZING stores the transaction as a COD donation. At the end of the month, the ZING business will automatically send a statement of all COD transactions over to GAIA's ZING. GAIA will then raise an invoice for the month's donations and email that to the ZING business, with a link to an online PayNOW. The ZING business makes the online payment of their donations received and that is then reconciled in the GAIA ZING. GAIA then adds the donation to their investment program.
